Write for us
Urban News Collective welcomes thoughtful pitches about how city life is shaped: by streets, shared spaces, neighbourhood patterns, local culture and design choices. We are interested in fresh angles that help readers see a familiar place or urban question differently.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central idea, why it matters to a general reader, and what makes your approach distinct. A strong proposal has a clear scope, a specific subject and a useful takeaway, without needing specialist credentials to follow. We welcome explainers, comparisons, cultural histories, close readings of public places and well-framed first-person observations.
A careful fit
Pitches should be original and grounded in details that can be checked. Be clear about what you know directly and what needs further verification; do not present assumptions as fact. We are unlikely to use broad trend claims without a sound basis, promotional copy, or a piece whose central point depends on advice about local rules.
How to propose a piece
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline, the intended category and a brief note about your approach. Please send a pitch rather than a finished article unless an editor has invited one; a submission is not a promise of publication.
