Editorial policy
Urban News Collective aims to make its writing clear, fair and useful to revisit. We distinguish explanation from opinion, take care with claims, and make changes openly when a published detail needs correction.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and factual claims against suitable material before publication, and take care not to turn an example into a universal rule. When a subject is uncertain or contested, we say so rather than smoothing away the uncertainty. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page; we review it and update material when warranted.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject of city life. A collaboration or commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view. We do not present a partner's claims as independent editorial judgement.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements and other partner material are identified clearly where they appear, so readers can distinguish them from editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that applies, we label the image. Illustrations are not evidence that a depicted place or event occurred.
Corrections and updates
If we find a meaningful error, we correct it and make the change visible in the relevant context. Readers may use the Contact page to explain what seems wrong and, where possible, point us to material that helps clarify it.
